Express Delivery for AHSC (Tuc & Phx)

New Service for AHSC faculty & students in Tucson or Phoenix!  From the Library Catalog, request an item located at a UA Library and have it delivered to the library of your choice for check-out.

Use UA Libraries Interlibrary Loan to request that an article or book chapter be scanned from a print journal or book and delivered to your account in PDF format.

Request an item in the Library Catalog

  • Search the Library Catalog for the item you want*

  • Click the "Request this item" button 

  • Log into My Library Account with your UA NetID

  • Click on "Request Selected Item"

  • AHSC (Tucson) Affiliates:  Choose any library for your pick up location

  • ​AHSC (Phoenix) Affiliates:  ​Choose AHSL--Phoenix to have item shipped to your home

Pick up  

  • When your item is ready, you will receive a notice in your University email or a text, if you've opted in for text alerts. You may also log into My Library Account to find out the status.

  • Pick up your item at the location in the email or text; if AHSL, ask at the Information Desk.

  • AHSC Phoenix: requested items are mailed to your home---be sure your Interlibrary Loan account has your current home address.

  • Items are held for pick up for 7 days and then reshelved

  • If additional holds have been placed on an item, it can only be checked out for 7 days

  • Return item by due date to avoid fines.  See UAL Policy.

Canceled requests

We will send you a cancellation notice via email if the requested item cannot be located and has been declared missing. You may use UAL Interlibrary Loan to order from another library.
 

Restrictions

Up to 5 books, videos, DVDs and CDs may be checked out per day. Items must be listed as "IN LIBRARY" in the catalog. The following materials may not be checked out:

  • Journal volumes less than 10 years old

  • Microforms

  • Reference & Ready Reference materials

  • InfoDesk & Reserve items (books & videos)

  • Special Collections 

Need an item that is checked-out?

  • If the item you want is checked out, use the Library Catalog to recall the item.

    • Click the "Request this item" button 

    • Log into your library account with your NetID.

    • Select the item you want and click on Request Selected Item.

  • We will send you an e-mail or text when the item becomes available.

  • If you have an item that someone else needs, we will send you an email stating that the item has been recalled along with a new due date for the return of the item. 

  • Items are held for 7 days after being returned. If an item has additional holds, it can only be checked-out for 7 days.

  • Return items by due date to avoid fines. See the UAL policy.

  •  Some items may not be recalled and the recall function is not available for those items.
